(Undated)  –  A documentary on Carl Sandburg aired nationally on PBS last night, including on WTVP.  The Day Carl Sandburg died is a film by Paul Bonesteel.  It containes interviews with Robin Metz, Director of the creative writing program at Knox College as well as an interview with Rodney Davis,  Professor Emeritus of History and co-director of the Lincoln Students Center at Knox College.  Sandburg was born and raised in Galesburg.  He led a multi-faceted professional career that included work as a poet, a biographer of Abraham Lincoln, a musician and he even was a children's writer.  In addition to the showing on PBS last night, Metz is planning on a screening of The Day Carl Sandburg Died as part of activities that are taking place for Knox's Homecoming from October 19th thru the 21st.
