(Galesburg, IL)  –  Galesburg city officials have announced that the East Main Street railroad crossing will be closed beginning next week.  The closing is to allow for BNSF to install the third track across East Main Street.  It will be closed beginning on Monday, October 8th at 7 a.m. until Friday, October 19th at 5 p.m.  A signed detour for truck traffic will be provided on I-74 to U.S. Route 34 back to U.S. Route 150.  Local traffic will utilize Allens Avenue to Mulberry to Seminary back to Main Street.
