(Galesburg, IL)  –  Several local establishments in Galesburg are still waiting on the state to take action on their application for a video gambling license.  So far the only two businesses have been approved.  One is Cherry Street Restaurant and Bar.  In 2009, the General Assembly passed legislation that authorized video gambling machines in bars as well as other locations.  Thousands of bars across the state have applied as a result.  The other Galesburg business that has been approved is Broadview Restaurant & Lounge.  They have not installed the machines.
