Oshkosh, WI – The Prairie Fire had two runners set two more all-time top 10 marks at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on Saturday.
The men’s team competed with four individual runners, two of whom finished in the top 80 out of a total of 271 participants and set new all-time top 25 performances. The women’s team placed 36th out of 40 teams and also had two runners establish new all-time top 25 performances. There were 276 runners in the women’s 6K race.
Senior Sean Choate (Chicago, IL, Chicago Academy) capped his sensational season with a 64th place finish in a time of 25:57. That’s the eighth-fastest 8K time in school history. Junior Gabe Moreno (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) placed 78th individually in 26:12, tying his own time for #19 on the Top 25 Best Performances list.
First-year runner Elizabeth Reyes (Oak Park, IL, Oak Park-River Forest) was the top finisher for the Prairie Fire women. She placed 158th individually in 25:00, which is the 10th fastest time in school history. Reyes now owns five all-time top 10 times, including the school record. Another first-year runner added her name to the Top 25 Best Performances list for the fourth time. Mickella Duffy-Webb (Colorado Springs, CO, William J. Palmer) placed 180th in 25:29, which ranks as the 18th best performance in the 6K at Knox.
The Prairie Fire women finished ahead of Northland College, Lake Forest College, MSOE, and Mount Mary College.
