(Galeburg, IL)  –  Two Moline men were stopped at the Galesburg Amtrak Station last week with one now facing drug charges.  Galesburg police say they arrested 18-year old Brandon A. James after he got off the train and then headed in the opposite direction of other passenger traffic, toward Mulbery Street.  He then illegally crossed the train tracks while exiting the station.  Police told him to stop but he kept going.  Only after police threatened to released the K-9 unit did James stop.  A second man was identified at 35-year old Justin P.  Smith Sorrells.  He was detained by police who questioned him.  Police did find some cannabis in James suitcase.  Smith-Sorrells told police eventually that he thought that his cousuin might have brought some pot back with him from Denver.  James told police that he didn't know the cannabis was in the suitcase.  Following the investigation, police then arrested Smith-Sorrells on a charge of unlawful possession of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis.  A notice to appear was issued to him and he was then released.
