Silver Streaks swimmer Delaney Duncan become just the second Galesburg swimmer to reach the final day of competition and the first since 1999 by swimming the 100-Breast Stroke in 1:05.57. She set another school record and guaranteed that she will win a state medal. She can finish as high as seventh overall in the consolation finals.
In other races Duncan swam the 50-Free in 24.57 seconds, her best of the year, but failed to advance. The 200-Free Relay team of Emelia Smith, Lilly Pogue, Rebecca Duncan and Delaney Duncan also recorded their best result of the year, finishing in 1:41.30 but failed to advance.
The Galesburg 200-Medley Relay team finished in 1:51.03 and failed to advance. Those swimmers are Dani Beetler, Delaney Duncan, Rebecca Dunacn and Lilly Pogue.
