Knox County- The Knox County Health Department continues to offer the seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccines to the residents of Knox County. Starting Thursday, December 6th thru December 21st vaccinations will be available at the Health Department, 1361 West Fremont Street, Galesburg, on a walk-in basis and by appointments. To make an appointment call 309.344.2224.
Season flu vaccinations are recommended for everyone who is at least 6 months old. It is especially important for pregnant women, people 65 and older, and people with compromised immune systems and anyone who lives with them.
In addition to receiving a flu shot, it is important to practice the 3 C’s – • Clean –wash your hands • Cover – cover your cough and sneeze • Contain – contain your germs- stay home if you are sick The cost for the flu vaccine this year is $30 for adults, $45 for high-dose, and $15 for children (18 and younger); pneumonia is $75; Medicaid and Medicare Part B, All Kids, Cash or Check are accepted.
