(Galesburg, IL)  --  A Monmouth man who is accused of killing a man in Galesburg earlier this year was in Knox County Circuit Court last week.  30-year old Jereme Jermaine Carter was in court for a pre-trial conference.  The earliest his trial will start though is January.  Carter is accused of killing Terrell Allen in August of this year.  Carter waived his right to a speed trial during Monday's hearing.  He agreed to the delay to allow his attorney more time to prepare his case.  Another man who was arrested in connection with the murder, 33-year old Jerome Fletcher of Galesburg has been cahrged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon and obstruction of justice.  Carter has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.  Both Carter and Fletcher are each being held on $1-million bond in the Knox County Jail in Galesburg.
