(Galesburg, IL)  --  The man who ran against the current Knox County State's Attorney during the last election has been relieved of his duties.  Knox County Assistant State's Attorney Erik Gibson was let go last Friday.  The election between Gibson and his boss, State's Attorney John Pepmeyer was a hotly contested race that included allegations by Gibson in regard to Pepmeyer's campaign spending.
