(Galesburg, IL)  --  A Knox College professor has received a National Science Foundation research grant.  The recipiet of the grant was Chemistry Professor Mary Crawford.  The grant will help her physical chemistry students better understand connections between their studies and "real-world applications".  Crawford cited an example of that being Archaeology is something that you don't think about in terms of physical chemistry, but archaeologists use physical chemistry techniques to do their jobs.  The grant is for three years and totals nearly $200,000.  Crawford graduated from Knox College in 1989 and joined the faculty in 1997.
