(Galesburg, IL)  --  Members of the Galesburg City Council got rid of a majority of an $800,000 deficit.  The deal that was struck will have an impact on both city services as well as resident tax bills.  During Wednesday nights budget work session, members of the council agreed to cuts of over $600,000.  The agreement will include a 2-percent natural gas use tax that will bring in about $300,000.  The cuts that were agreed to will bring the deficit to about $112,000.  The deficit reduction agreement will be voted on during the Galesburg City Council meeting that will take place on Monday.
