(Undated)  --  A meeting of the new Abingdon-Avon Consolidated School District 276 school board late last week resulted in its first tax levy being passed.  The total levy calls for $3,926-449 in revenue.  The board also set up a timeline in regard to hiring a new superintendent.  The board also set up a timeline in regard to addressing how the district will be named and how a mascot and team colors will be chosen.
The new board will meet again tonight (Tuesday). They will be meeting in the Abingdon School District 217 offices which is located in Hedding Grade School.  The meeting will begin tonight at 8 p.m.
