BNSF Chairman to speak at luncheon
Mr. Rose has a long history in the transportation trade having held several positions in the trucking industry before joining BNSF in 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri where he majored in marketing and minored in logistics. He holds seats on several boards including the Association of American Railroads, President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and is Vice President of the Boy Scouts of America National Executive Board.
"We welcome Matt Rose once again to Galesburg and we look forward to hearing about and visiting with him on the competitive direction that BNSF has embarked upon," said Galesburg Mayor, Sal Garza. "His address will affirm Galesburg's strong partnership with BNSF."
Representative Moffitt added, "It is always exciting to have BNSF Chairman Matt Rose come to Galesburg! We truly appreciate and value the importance of the BNSF Railway Company as our area's largest employer and we want to further explore ways that BNSF and our community can work together for even more growth."
"GREDA is proud to partner with our elected leaders at the local and state level to bring Mr. Rose home to discuss opportunities that the Galesburg region has to enhance the railroad industry," remarked Tom Schmidt, GREDA President.
