The Silver Streaks varsity girls basketball team used a successful night at the charity stripe to turn a first quarter deficit into an 8 point win over a scrappy Rock Island Alleman ballclub at Thiel Gymnasium on Thursday night.  Galesburg ended the night 21-24 from the free throw line, including a perfect 4 for 4 from Casey Williams and Chloe Anderson. Jessica Lieber led the Streaks offensively with 24 points, including 17 in the first half. The Pioneers tied the game twice in the 3rd quarter but after a Galesburg head coach, Evan Massey, time out, the Streaks went on a 7-0 run to close out the Pioneers. Sharron Diggins added 15 points and Chloe Anderson and Allison Mangieri chipped in with 8 points apiece. Galesburg moves to (3-2) in the Western Big Six Conference and (12-6) overall, while Rock Island Alleman remains winless in Conference play at (0-5) and (9-8) overall.
