Bulls' Rose Cleared For More Contact
(Deerfield, IL) -- Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau says Derrick Rose is making progress in his return from knee surgery. Thibodeau says Rose is taking more contact in practice and moved to the next step in recovery. Rose was hurt in Game One of the Eastern Conference playoffs against Philadelphia on April 28th. He underwent surgery on May 12th and was expected to miss eight to 12 months.
Bulls Host Pistons Tonight
(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls welcome the Detroit Pistons to United Center this evening. Chicago is winners in four of its last five contests and is now 24-and-16 on the season. Detroit has lost three out of five, but is coming off Sunday's win over the Celtics to improve to 15-and-25. Tonight's tip off is scheduled for 7:00.
Illinois Thumps Nebraska
(Lincoln, NE) -- D.J. Richardson dropped 30 points as Illinois beat Nebraska last night, 71-51. Brandon Paul added 14 points for the Fighting Illini, who moved to 15-and-5 and 2-and-4 in the Big Ten. The Illini will return home to play third-ranked Michigan on Sunday evening.
Northwestern Welcomes Minnesota Tonight
(Evanston, IL) -- Northwestern plays host to 14th-ranked Minnesota at Welsh-Ryan Arena tonight. The Wildcats fell to Indiana on Sunday to drop to 2-and-4 in the Big Ten with an 11-and-8 overall record. The Gophers are 15-and-3 overall and carry a 3-and-2 conference mark.
