South County "Smoke Shop" Raid
(St. Louis Co, MO) -- Drug agents raided the "Lemay Discount Smoke Shop" on Lemay Ferry Wednesday evening. One person was reportedly taken from the scene in handcuffs. Law enforcement continues to battle local sales of synthetic drugs.
Shooting Victim Heads To Nearby Metrolink Station
(St. Louis, MO) -- A shooting victim headed to a nearby Metrolink station seeking help yesterday afternoon. The unidentified man drove from West Florissant to the light rail station on Grand. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Another St. Louis Charter School Bus Incident
(St. Louis, MO) -- Another incident involving a St. Louis Charter School bus. "KMOV-TV" reports a kindergarten student was put on the wrong bus last Friday afternoon. A previous bullying incident on an SLCS bus is reportedly still under investigation. The school claims it plans to increase bus security.
Metro East Police Commission Appointments
(Springfield, IL) -- Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has made seven additional appointments to the Metro East Police District Commission. The group was created last summer to battle street crime and police corruption in East St. Louis, Alorton, Brooklyn and Washington Park. Among the new appointees is former Metro East NAACP President, Johnny Scott.
Governor Nixon Reaches Across The River
(Jefferson City, MO) -- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is reaching across the Mississippi River to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn. Nixon is requesting a united front in naming the new bridge connecting the two states after Cardinal great Stan Musial. He added, "The Stan Musial Memorial Bridge would do honor to the citizens of both Missouri and Illinois."
BBB Warns Local Realtors
(St. Louis, MO) -- The BBB is warning local realtors about a new Internet scam. Dozens of St. Louis Coldwell Banker Gundaker agents received e-mails earlier this month claiming they were the target of consumer complaints. They were then directed to a phony website and instructed to pay to have their names removed. Agents were also targeted at Coldwell Banker offices in Chicago and Minneapolis.
Local Food Stamp Office Throw Down
(East St. Louis, IL) -- A throw down at an East St. Louis food stamp office is all caught on tape. The YouTube video was brought to the attention of reporters at KTVI-TV. At least four women were shown duking it out at the office on 9th and Missouri Avenue. Bystanders say the brouhaha started over a place in line.
