In IHSA girls basketball on Saturday night, the Prairieland Conference championship was decided between Knoxville and Brimfield. Brimfield came into the contest a single game ahead of the Blue Bullets and ended up finishing 2 games ahead, and undefeated, at (11-0) in league play after a 55-30 win over Knoxville. The Indians held the high scoring Bullets to just 5 points at the end of the first quarter and led 12-5. Brimfield then went on a 10-0 run and led 22-5 before Knoxville finally got on the board in the second quarter. The Blue Bullets shot a paltry 15% in the first half and trailed 26-11 at halftime and 36-21 heading to the final quarter. Hannah Wallace scored a game-high 18 points for the Indians while Knoxville was led by Kelly Lenz with 10 and Tessa Jones with 7. |
