Cedeno To Sign With Cardinals

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Multiple reports have the St. Louis Cardinals agreeing to terms on a one-year contract with veteran infielder Ronny Cedeno [Seh-DEN-yo] yesterday.  Cedeno played in a reserve role for the New York Mets last season.  He is primarily a shortstop who has also played for the Cubs, Mariners and Pirates.

Blues Head For Columbus

(St. Louis, MO)  --   The Blues are in Columbus to play the Blue Jackets on Thursday.  St. Louis is 5-and-1 and entered last night third in the NHL in goals per game at 3.8.  The Blues seek their fourth straight win.

Illinois Looks For Upset

(Champaign, IL)  --  The Fighting Illini go to Michigan State on Thursday in Big Ten basketball action.  The Spartans are ranked number-9 in the "USA Today" Top-25 poll.  Illinois is 15-and-6 overall with a 2-and-5 Big Ten record.

Mizzou Checks In At #18

(Columbia, MO)  --  Missouri moved to number-18 in the "USA Today" Top 25 college basketball poll this week.  The Tigers are at Louisiana State tonight.  Mizzou is 4-and-2 in the SEC with a 15-and-4 overall record.

Saint Louis Seeks Upset

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Thursday is SLU's chance at an upset of number-10 Butler.  The Billikens are at home having won two straight games.  Saint Louis is 3-and-2 in Atlantic 10 play with a 14-and-5 overall record.  Butler is 17-and-3 and 4-and-1.
