State Superintendent of Education Christopher A. Koch congratulated Hedding Grade School in Abingdon for earning the distinction of being a Spotlight School for the second year in a row. The recognition is given to schools in high-poverty areas and have made Adequate Yearly Progress for the last two years and at least 60 percent of students met or exceeded standards in both reading and mathamatics. The school  was one of just 105 in the state to be selected.
