Bulls' Rose Takes Part In More Drills

(Deerfield, IL)  --  Bulls guard Derrick Rose took another step in his recovery from an ACL tear yesterday.  Rose participated in five-on-five drills for the first time since the injury.  He had been taking part in contact drills for weeks, but worked out in a full scrimmage during practice yesterday.

Bulls Start Second Half In New Orleans

(New Orleans, LA)  --  The Bulls open the second half of the season in New Orleans tonight against the Hornets.  Chicago entered the All-Star break having lost four out of five to dip to 30-and-22.  The Bulls sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, seven games back of the first-place Heat.  Tonight's game tips off at 7:00.

'Hawks Look To Stay Hot Against Canucks

(Chicago, IL)  --  The Blackhawks look to stay on a roll tonight when they host the Vancouver Canucks at United Center.  Chicago is the only team left in the NHL without a regulation loss.  The 'Hawks sit at 12-0-and-3 on the season and have won two straight.  Chicago holds a two-point lead on second-place Anaheim.  The puck drops tonight at 7:30.

Cubs' Garza To Have MRI

(Mesa, AZ)  --  Cubs pitcher Matt Gaza will undergo an MRI to diagnose the severity of a lat injury he suffered in his first throwing session on Sunday.  Garza says he threw about 20 pitches before feeling "something" on his left side that he first thought to be a cramp.  Garza was 5-and-7 with a 3.91 ERA last season but missed the second half with an elbow injury.

Cubs Deal Campana To D-Backs

(Mesa, AZ)  --  The Cubs have sent outfielder Tony Campana to the Arizona Diamondbacks for a pair of pitching prospects.  Campana hit .264 with five RBI and 30 stolen bases last season for Chicago.  He was designated for assignment earlier this month.  The Cubs receive 17-year-old right-handers Jesus Castillo and Erick Leal in the swap.

White Sox Start Spring Games Saturday

(Glendale, AZ)  --  The White Sox are counting down the days before beginning spring training games at Camelback Ranch in Glendale.  Chicago has a few more workouts before playing its spring training co-habitant, the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Sox and Dodgers will play Saturday and Sunday at Camelback Ranch with both game starting at 2:05 p.m. Central Time.

Notre Dame Drops Pittsburgh

(Pittsburgh, PA)  --  Jack Cooley had 13 points and nine rebounds to lift Notre Dame to a 51-42 win over 22nd-ranked Pittsburgh last night.  Jerian Grant added 13 points as well for the 25th-ranked Fighting Irish, who moved to 21-and-6 with a 9-and-5 Big East record.  The Irish are off until Sunday when they host Cincinnati.

Northwestern Hosts Wisconsin Tomorrow

(Evanston, IL)  --  Northwestern is home tomorrow to battle 17th-ranked Wisconsin.  The Wildcats fell to Illinois on Sunday and dropped to 4-and-9 in Big Ten play.  Northwestern is now 13-and-13 overall this year and will be looking to stop a three-game slide.  Tomorrow's game tips at 8:00.

DePaul At Georgetown Tomorrow

(Washington, DC)  --  DePaul hits the road to play at 11th-ranked Georgetown tomorrow night.  The Blue Demons picked up their second conference win of the year on Saturday against Rutgers.  The victory moved the Demons to 2-and-10 in Big East action with an 11-and-14 overall mark.  Tomorrow's game tips at 6:00.

Illinois Off Until Thursday

(Champaign, IL)  --  Illinois has a few more days before hitting the hardwood.  The Fighting Illini will host Penn State this Thursday night at Assembly Hall.  The Illini beat Northwestern on Sunday to move to 19-and-8 with a 6-and-7 record in Big Ten play.  Penn State is the only Big Ten squad without a conference win at 0-and-13.  The Nittany Lions are 8-and-17 overall.
