Saint Louis Upsets VCU
(St. Louis, MO) -- Jordair Jett scored all 16 of his points in the second half and Saint Louis took down 23rd-ranked Virginia Commonwealth, 76-62, in Tuesday's matchup of the top two teams in the Atlantic 10. The Billikens took sole possession of first place with their eighth straight victory. They improved to 20-and-5 overall and 9-and-2 in conference play.
Tigers Upset Gators
(Columbia, MO) -- Missouri upset fourth-ranked Florida 63-60 to stay undefeated at home this season. Laurence Bowers finished with a game-high 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Tigers. Mizzou improved to 19-and-7 overall and 8-and-5 in the SEC. The Tigers go to Kentucky for Saturday's game.
Blues Lose To Sharks
(St. Louis, MO) -- Tim Kennedy's third-period tally proved to be the game winner as the Sharks topped the Blues, 2-1. Patrik Berglund gave St. Louis a lead with his ninth goal of the year in the first period but they couldn't hold it. Jake Allen made 23 saves for the Blues, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
Illinois At Home Tomorrow
(Champaign, IL) -- Illinois looks for its fifth straight win tomorrow night against Penn State at home. The Fighting Illini is 6-and-7 in the Big Ten and 19-and-8 overall. Penn State is winless in the conference at 0-and-13.
USOC Gauges Interest In 2024 Games
(Undated) -- The United States Olympic Committee on Tuesday sent a letter to mayors of 35 U.S. cities to gauge interest in hosting the 2024 Summer Games. Letters went out to the 25 largest cities in the country as well as 10 others that previously expressed interest. Previous hosts Los Angeles, Atlanta and St. Louis are among the invites. The USOC has another two-and-a-half years to decide whether to submit an official bid for the 2024 Games.
