Rams' Jackson To Void Contract

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Running back Steven Jackson's career with the St. Louis Rams could be coming to an end.  The "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" reports the 29-year-old will void the final year of his contract and become a free agent when the new league year starts on March 12th.  Jackson is scheduled to make seven-million-dollars for the 2013 season.  He has eclipsed the one-thousand yard mark for eight straight seasons and rushed for over 10-thousand yards with 56 touchdowns in his career.

Cards Cruise Past Astros

(Jupiter, FL)  --  The Cardinals got their first win of spring training Monday, a 10-2 pasting of the Houston Astros.  Allen Craig had two hits, two runs batted in and scored three runs to lead the Birds.  Adam Wainwright did not allow a hit in two-and-a-third innings of his start. The Cards play Boston today in Fort Myers.

Blues Off Until Thursday

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Blues have a couple of more days before hitting the ice.  St. Louis will take on the Chicago Blackhawks this Thursday night at the Scottrade Center.  The Blues are 10-6-and-2 on the year.

Rams Officials Continue Work At Combine

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  Rams coaches and front office staff remained at work during the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this Monday.  The team got a look at the top defensive lineman and linebackers.  The event wraps up today with defensive backs.

Mizzou To Play Gamecocks

(Columbia, MO)  --  Missouri hits the road this week to play South Carolina. The Tigers have alternated wins and losses the past four games.  They are 19-and-8 with an 8-and-6 record in SEC play.

Illini With One Game This Week


(Ann Arbor, MI)  --  Once a top-10 team, Illinois gets a few days off to forget the loss to Michigan last week.  The Fighting Illini are 20-and-9 with a 7-and-8 record in the Big Ten.  The Illini host Nebraska on Saturday.

SLU Up To #19

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  Saint Louis has nine straight wins and moved into the "USA Today" top-25 poll at number-19 this week.  The Billikens are 10-and-2 in Atlantic 10 play and 21-and-5 overall.  SLU hosts Saint Joseph's tomorrow night.
