Cubs Place Barney On DL

He suffered the cut in Saturday's exhibition game and was unable to go in yesterday's opener. Infielder Alberto Gonzalez was officially recalled to the active roster. Pitcher Robert Whitenack was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
