D'backs Drop Cards In 16th
(Phoenix, AZ) -- Cliff Pennington singled home Jason Kubel in the bottom of the 16th inning to give the Diamondbacks a 10-9 win over the Cardinals. Yadier Molina lifted a solo homer and drove in three runs for St. Louis. Daniel Descalso was 4-for-7 with a pair of runs and two RBI. Fernando Salas suffered the loss. The Cardinals head to San Francisco for a series that starts Friday afternoon.
Freese Aims For Home Opener
(Phoenix, AZ) -- Cardinals third baseman David Freese is at Triple-A Memphis for rehab assignment. The "St. Louis Post Dispatch" reports Freese is scheduled to start for the Redbirds and play five innings. Freese hopes to be back with the Cards for their home opener next Monday.
Pirates Blank Cubs
(Pittsburgh, PA) -- Wandy Rodriguez and two relievers combined on a two-hit shutout as the Pirates blanked the Cubs 3-0 at PNC Park. Edwin Jackson gave up two runs on three hits over five frames to suffer the loss. He fanned five in his Cubs debut. Chicago won the opener 3-1 on Monday and the two teams finish the three-game series this afternoon.
Blues Deal Redden To Boston
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blues traded veteran Wade Redden to the Boston Bruins yesterday. They received a conditional sixth or seventh-round draft pick in the deal. The 35-year-old Redden scored two goals with three assists in 23 games this season.

(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blues are in Chicago for tonight's game against the Western Conference-leading Blackhawks. St. Louis is a half-game back of Edmonton for the eighth and last playoff spot in the West at 18-14-and-2. But the Blues have played two fewer games than the Oilers.
