Edwin Jackson gave up two runs on three hits over five frames to suffer the loss. He fanned five in his Cubs debut. Chicago won the opener 3-1 on Monday and the teams play the series finale this afternoon.
White Sox Hit Four Homers To Beat Royals
(Chicago, IL) -- Dayan Viciedo's two-run shot was one of four Chicago home runs as the White Sox powered past the Royals, 5-2. Adam Dunn, Tyler Flowers and Alexei Ramirez hit solo shots for Chicago, which has won the first two games of the series. Jake Peavy pitched six innings of two-run ball for the win and Addison Reed closed it out for his second save. The two teams play their series finale this afternoon.
Bulls Trying To Keep Pace
(Washington, DC) -- The Bulls are now in sixth place in the East, a half-game back of the Atlanta Hawks for fifth. The Bulls head to Brooklyn to meet the Nets tomorrow night. At 40-33 Chicago can still catch the Nets, who currently hold the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference.
Blackhawks In Action Tonight
(Chicago, IL) -- The Blackhawks jump back on the ice tonight at the United Center. Chicago welcomes the St. Louis Blues to the Madhouse on Madison. The 'Hawks moved to 27-5-and-3 with Monday's shootout win over the Predators. The Blues are 18-14-and-2 following a win over the Wild on Monday.
Report: Big East To Become America Athletic Conference
(Undated) -- ESPN.com reports America Athletic Conference is the new name for the former Big East. A formal announcement could come as soon as Thursday. The new league will have 10 teams starting this year and will grow to 12 by 2015. A new name was needed after the seven Catholic schools kept the Big East name when they announced they were splitting and forming their own league.
