Cards, Pirates Rained Out In Pittsburgh
(Pittsburgh, PA) -- Yesterday's scheduled game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park has been postponed due to rain. The Pirates led 4-2 in the second inning when play was halted. A makeup date has yet to be announced. The Cards won the opener of the series 10-6 on Monday. The teams wrap up the series on Wednesday.
Rangers Double Up Cubs
(Chicago, IL) -- Craig Gentry made a diving catch in centerfield to preserve the Rangers' 4-2 win over the Cubs. Darwin Barney ripped the ball at Gentry with the bases loaded an two out before the outfielder made a great catch to end the game. Nate Schierholtz doubled in two in the inning. Travis Wood allowed two runs in seven-and-a-third innings to take the loss.
Blues Bury Canucks In Shootout
(St. Louis, MO) -- Alex Steen and Andy McDonald each scored in the shootout to lift the Blues to a 2-1 win over the visiting Canucks. Jay Bouwmeester scored the lone regulation goal for St. Louis, which ended a two-game skid to improve to 24-16-and-2. Brian Elliott turned away 21 shots and two more in the shootout for the win. The Blue host the Yotes tomorrow.
Oshie Has Another Ankle Surgery
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blue revealed yesterday that forward T.J. Oshie underwent left ankle surgery. Oshie had been placed on injured reserve on April 2nd and is considered week-to-week with the club on the cusp of the postseason. The 26-year-old totaled seven goals and 13 assists in 30 games. Oshie went under the knife for a fractured ankle in November of 2010 and missed almost three months.
Lacy Visited Rams
(St. Louis, MO) -- After losing Steven Jackson in free agency the Rams are looking for help at running back. St. Louis brought in Alabama running back Eddie Lacy for a pre-draft visit yesterday. Lacy has a chance to be the first RB off the board in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Rams Sign Clemens
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Rams will have a familiar face back at quarterback. St. Louis re-signed veteran signal caller Kellen Clemens to a one-year deal. He has been with the Rams for most of the last two seasons. He will most likely be the third-string QB behind starter Sam Bradford and back-up Austin Davis.
College Football Game To Be Played At Busch Stadium
(St. Louis, MO) -- The first ever football game will be played at Busch Stadium. Southeast Missouri State and Southern Illinios University Carbondale will play at the Cardinals home on September 21St. It is the 81st meeting between the two teams.
