Bulls Beat Nets, Pull Even In Series
(Brooklyn, NY) -- Luol Deng had 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulls beat the Nets 90-82 to even their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at one game each. Carlos Boozer added 13 points and 12 boards while Joakim Noah scored 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win. The series shifts back to Chicago for Game Three of the best-of-seven set. That takes place Thursday night from United Center.
Blackhawks Fall In Vancouver
(Vancouver, British Columbia) -- Daniel Carcillo's third-period tally was all the offense the Blackhawks could muster in a 3-1 loss to the Canucks last night. Vancouver had built a lead in the second as Daniel Sedin had a goal and assist. Corey Crawford made 29 stops for Chicago, which fell to 34-6-and-5. The 'Hawks head to Edmonton to face the Oilers tomorrow.
Reds Pick Up Walk-Off Win Over Cubs
(Cincinnati, OH) -- The Reds scored three times in the bottom of the 13th to earn a 5-4 victory over the Cubs. Luis Valbuena's two-run homer in the top half of the inning gave the Cubs a 4-2 lead. David DeJsus hit a solo shot for Chicago while Starlin Castro also drove in a run in the defeat. Michael Bowden took the loss in relief as the Cubbies lost their fourth in-a-row. Chicago is now 5-and-13.
Cubs Resume Series With Reds
(Cincinnati, OH) -- The Cubs and Reds resume their three-game series from Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati tonight. Carlos Villanueva will take the mound for Chicago against Cincinnati's Tony Cingrani in tonight's middle test. After last night's loss, the Cubbies are now 5-and-13 on the season. The Redlegs sit at 12-and-8 on the campaign.
White Sox Lose To Tribe
(Chicago, IL) -- Cleveland scored twice in the top of the eighth and held on for a 3-2 victory over the White Sox last night at The Cell. Conor Gillaspie hit a solo homer and Hector Gimenez drove in a run with a double for Chicago, which has lost four straight. Matt Thornton took the loss in relief for the Sox after starter Dylan Axelrod allowed just one run over six innings. Chicago is now 7-and-12 on the year.
ChiSox Continue Series Against Tribe
(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox and Indians continue their three-game series tonight from The Cell. Jose Quintana will get the start for Chicago against Cleveland's Zach McAllister in the middle contest. The Sox are now 1-and-3 against the Tribe this season after last night's loss. Chicago is 7-and-12 overall while the Indians sit at 8-and-10.
Report: Bears Worked Out LT Pugh
(Chicago, IL) -- ESPN reports the Bears recently held a private workout with former Syracuse left tackle Justin Pugh. The three-year starter for the Orange is projected as a late-first round or early-second round selection in this week's NFL Draft. The Bears have the 20th selection in Thursday's first round and hold the 18th pick, 50th overall, in the second round.
Hamilton Jr. Commits To DePaul
(Rosemont, IL) -- Thomas Hamilton Jr. has reportedly committed to play at DePaul. The IMG Academy senior center will join the Blue Demons according to his club coach. Hamilton Jr. had other offers from Boston College, Bradley, Miami-Florida and Oklahoma State. He's the son of former Chicago King High School star Thomas Hamilton and attended Whitney Young High before transferring to IMG.
