Cards Sweep Nats

(Washington, DC)  --  The Cardinals put up a three-spot in the first inning against Stephen Strasburg and went on to beat the Nationals 4-2 in D.C.  Yadier Molina singled in two and Daniel Descalso and Matt Holliday also plated runs as St. Louis swept the three-game series.  Jaime [[ HIGH-may ]] Garcia pitched five-and-two-thirds innings of one-run ball for his second win.  The Birds return home to play Pittsburgh starting Friday. 

Reds Blank Cubs To Take Rubber Match

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Todd Frazier homered to back seven shutout innings from Mat Latos [[ LAY-tose ]] as the Reds blanked the Cubs, 1-0.   Jeff Samardzija [[ suh-MARD-juh ]] fanned eight while allowing just one run in six frames, but fell to 1-and-4 with the loss.  Chicago has dropped five of its last six games and opens a four-game series at Miami tonight.

Blues Closing Out Regular Season

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Blues host the Calgary Flames tonight with a chance to win their fifth straight at home.  St. Louis can still get home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.  The Blues are 27-17-and 2 on the season.

Wolves, Blues Join Forces

(Undated)  --  The St. Louis Blues have teamed up with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League for the next three years.  The Wolves joined the AHL in 2001 and were partnered with the Atlanta Thrashers until they moved to become the new Winnipeg Jets.  The Wolves were affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks the last two seasons.

Rams Gear Up For Draft

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Rams are gearing up for tonight's NFL Draft in New York.  The Rams have the 16th and 22nd picks in the first round, thanks to last year's trade with Washington.  The draft continues Friday and Saturday with Rounds Two through Seven.
