(St. Louis, MO) -- Adam Wainwright was strong, but the Cardinals were clipped by the Reds last night 2-1. Wainwright allowed two runs over seven innings while striking out six but fell to 4-and-2 with the defeat. Yadier Molina was 3-for-4 and doubled in a run in the eighth for St. Louis. The Cards have lost three straight to fall to 14-and-11.
Cards, Reds Resume Series At Busch
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Cardinals and Reds resume their three-game set at Busch Stadium tonight. St. Louis sends Jaime [[ HIGH-may ]] Garcia to the mound against Bronson Arroyo. The Cardinals are looking to stop a three-game slide after losing the series opener last night. First pitch is set for 7:15.
Cards Option Rzepczynski To Memphis
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Cardinals have sent left-hander Marc Rzepczynski [[ ZEP-chin-skee ]] to Triple-A Memphis. The reliever has allowed seven runs over eight innings this year, helping St. Louis to a 6.08 bullpen ERA. The Cards recalled 24-year-old minor league pitcher of the year Seth Maness from the Redbirds. He's made four starts in Memphis this year.
Blues Open Stanley Cup Run Against Champs
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blues open up their Stanley Cup Playoffs run tonight against the defending champion Los Angeles Kings. LA is shooting to become the first team to win consecutive championships since the Red Wings in 1997 and 1998. St. Louis is the four seed and has home-ice, but went 0-and-3 against the Kings during the regular season.
