Reckless Driver Ends Up in Jail
Illinois State Police District Seven announced the arrest of Travis K. Ladson, 25, Kewanee, IL for multiple driving offenses.
Wednesday at approximately 8:20 a.m. a District 7 trooper observed a dark colored late model Honda Accord traveling north bound on IL78 at a high rate of speed. While attempting to catch up to the vehicle, the trooper observed the Honda passing in a “no passing zone”, running cars off the road and driving erratically. The trooper caught up to the Honda in Annawan. Pulling next to the offending vehicle while stopped at the intersection of US 6, the trooper gave a visual cue to pull over. The driver of the Honda then accelerated into the stationary squad car striking the left side and continued driving forward into the yard of a private business. The Honda then entered onto Interstate 80 East bound and accelerated to approximately 110 MPH. Deeming a pursuit unsafe to the public, the trooper terminated the stop at that time.
Using the Secretary of State photo database the trooper was able to identify the violator as Travis K. Ladson. A follow up investigation was done at the residence where the driver was discovered and taken into custody without incident.
Ladson is being held at the Henry County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
Ladson has been charged with: 3 counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (Class 4 Felony), Criminal Damage to State Supported Property (Class 3 Felony), Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor) and multiple traffic offenses including Driving While Revoked.
