Red Wings Skate Past Blackhawks, Grab Series Lead

(Detroit, MI)  --  Gustav Nyquist and Drew Miller each lit the lamp in the second period to help the Red Wings in a 3-1 victory over the Blackhawks in Game Three from Detroit last night.  The Wings grab a two games to one lead in the best-of-seven set.  Patrick Kane had the lone goal for Chicago, which remains on the road for Game Four this Thursday.

Toews Named Finalist For NHL Award

(Undated)  --  Blackhawks captain Jonthan Toews [[ tayves ]] was named a finalist for the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award on Monday.  The honor is given to the player that exemplifies leadership to his team on and off the ice.  He's joined by Kings captain Dustin Brown and Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson.  Toews was named Chicago's captain in 2008.

White Sox Wash Red Sox

(Chicago, IL)  --  Adam Dunn blasted a three-run homer as the White Sox defeated the Red Sox, 6-4.  Alejandro De Aza and Alexei Ramirez each added an RBI double.  Chicago has won five-of-seven.  Dylan Axelrod gave up two runs over six innings to get the win while Addison Reed notched his 15th save.  The Sox handed Boston's Jon Lester his first loss of the season.

Sox Look To Take Series Against Boston

(Chicago, IL)  --  The White Sox continue their three-game series at "The Cell" with the Red Sox tonight.  Jose Quintana takes the mound for Chicago against Boston's Felix Doubront.  The ChiSox ended a two-game slide by winning the opener last night.  Chicago is now 20-and-23 overall.  First pitch tonight is set for 7:10.

Cubs Open Set In Pittsburgh

(Pittsburgh, PA)  --  The Cubs start a three-game series in Pittsburgh tonight against the Pirates.  Chicago sends Matt Garza to the mound tonight to make his season debut.  Garza suffered a lat strain during spring training and has been on the disabled list since.  Chicago lost two out of three over the weekend to the Mets.  First pitch tonight is set for 6:05.

Bears' Gould Could Be Cleared This Week

(Dallas, TX)  --  Bears kicker Robbie Gould is expected to be medically cleared later this week.  Gould missed the final three weeks of the season after suffering a ruptured tendon in his left leg.  He's expected to meet with his surgeon in Dallas today and return to the team tomorrow to be evaluated.  Gould is the second-leading scorer in Bears' history with 902 points.

Bears Cut DT Fluellen

(Lake Forest, IL)  --  The Bears have terminated the contract of defensive tackle Andre Fluellen.  Chicago signed Fluellen on April 9th after he split time last season with Miami and Detroit.  The 28-year-old spent his first four seasons with the Lions, who released him prior to the start of last season.  The former Florida State standout was a third-round pick in 2008.
