Red Wings Take Commanding Lead On Blackhawks
(Detroit, MI) -- Jimmy Howard posted 28 saves as the Red Wings blanked the Blackhawks 2-0 to grab a 3-1 lead in their Western Conference semifinals. Corey Crawford gave up one goal on 26 shots for Chicago, which hosts Game Five on Saturday.
Pirates Complete Sweep Of Cubs
(Pittsburgh, PA) -- The Pirates scored twice in each of the first two innings and went on to beat the Cubs 4-2 at PNC Park. Edwin Jackson gave up four runs in three frames to fall to 1-and-7 with the loss. Anthony Rizzo and Ryan Sweeney drove in runs for Chicago, which has lost four in-a-row overall. The Cubs begin a three-game series in Cincinnati tonight.
White Sox Take On Marlins
(Chicago, IL) -- The Chicago White Sox start a three-game series with the Miami Marlins at U.S. Cellular tonight. John Danks will be on the mound for the first time since last May after undergoing shoulder surgery. The Fish send Tom Koehler to the hill. Jake Peavy and Dylan Axelrod close out the three-game set on Saturday and Sunday.
Fire Face RSL
(Sandy, UT) -- The Chicago Fire are back on the pitch tomorrow facing Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium. The Fire are coming off a pair of 1-0 losses to the Philadelphia Union the last two weekends. The Fire will also be with a familiar face in defender Bakary Soumare [[ ba-kah-ray sue-mar-ay ]] after they acquired him from the Union for a second round pick in next year's draft. Soumare spent three seasons with Chicago.
