Cardinals Top Cubs
(St. Louis, MO) -- Yadier Molina hit a two-run home run and Jake Westbrook held the Cubs to two hits over seven innings as the Cardinals won 4-1 at Busch Stadium. Matt Carpenter and Matt Holliday had two hits and Edward Mujica picked up his 21st save of the season. Westbrook is 3-and-2. Edwin Jackson took the loss and fell to 3-and-9. Anthony Rizzo scored Chicago's only run and had one of the Cubs' two hits.
Cubs-Cardinals Series Ends Tonight
(St. Louis, MO) -- The four-game series between the Cardinals and Cubs ends tonight. St. Louis has a chance to win the series three games to one with a win. It's Lance Lynn getting the start for the Cards against Scott Feldman of the Cubs at 7:15 p.m. local time.
Cardinals Agree To Terms With Top Draft Pick
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Cardinals agreed to terms with top draft pick Marco Gonzales. He's a left-handed pitcher from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Gonzales was 7-and-3 with 96 strikeouts in 17 games this season in college.
Illinois Adds QB Transfer
(Champaign, IL) -- Former Oklahoma State quarterback Wes Lunt is transferring to Illinois. Lunt will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2013 season. Lunt made five starts for the Cowboys as a true freshman in 2012 and threw six touchdowns and seven interceptions.
