Blackhawks Seek Cup Tonight In Boston

(Boston, MA)  --  The Blackhawks are looking to hoist the Stanley Cup tonight in Boston as they face the Bruins in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final.  Chicago won Game Five 2-1 at home on Saturday and now holds a three games to two lead.  If the 'Hawks aren't able to seal the series tonight, Game Seven would be back in Chicago on Wednesday night.

Blackhawks Hope Toews Can Play Tonight

(Boston, MA)  --  Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville says he's hopeful Jonathan Toews [[ tayves ]] will play tonight in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final.  Toews suffered an upper-body injury in Game Five on Saturday and sat out the entire third period.  Quenneville says Toews is doing much better and that the team is optimistic he can take the ice.  Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron also suffered an injury and may not be at 100-percent tonight.

Cubs Hammer Astros

(Chicago, IL)  --  Ryan Wheeler and Anthony Rizzo each went deep as the Cubs unloaded on the Astros in route to a 14-6 victory at Wrigley yesterday.  Sweeney drove in six runs while Rizzo had four RBI in the win, which secured the series victory for the Cubbies.  Jeff Samardzija allowed three earned runs in seven innings to improve to 5-and-7.  Chicago is now 31-and-43 on the season.

Cubs Head To Milwaukee

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  The Cubs are off to Milwaukee where they open up a three-game series against the Brewers tomorrow from Miller Park.  Edwin Jackson gets the start for Chicago against Kyle Lohse [[ loash ]].  The Brew Crew took two out of three from the Braves at home over the weekend.  Milwaukee is even with the Cubs in the NL Central at 31-and-43.

Sox Fail To Sweep Royals

(Kansas City, MO)  --  Jesse Crain allowed three unearned runs in the eighth as the White Sox fell apart in a 7-6 loss to the Royals at Kauffman Stadium yesterday.  Adam Dunn hit his 20th homer of the year and drove in four runs for Chicago, which failed to sweep the three-game set.  Gordon Beckham added two RBI in defeat.  The Sox are now 31-and-42 on the year.

White Sox Face Mets Tomorrow

(Chicago, IL)  --  The White Sox are back home to start a two-game series against the New York Mets tomorrow.  It's the completion of a four-game season series which started at Citi Field back in early May.  The two teams split that pair of games in Flushing.  Left-hander Chris Sale will start tomorrow's opener against New York rookie Zack Wheeler.

Sky Gear Up For Liberty

(Rosemont, IL)  --  The Sky are getting set for their next contest against the New York Liberty on Wednesday afternoon.  Chicago improved to 5-and-3 on Saturday with a 71-61 road win over the Indiana Fever.  Rookie Elena Della Donne [[ della-DON ]] scored 13 points with seven rebounds while Epiphanny Prince led the way with 21 points in the victory.  The Liberty are 4-and-3 after an overtime loss to the Silver Stars yesterday.

Fire Take Out Crew

(Columbus, OH)  --  The Fire got a pair of goals after halftime to secure a 2-1 road victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night.  Dilly Duka buried one in the 52nd minute to tie knot the score and Mike Magee potted the game winner two minutes later.  Chicago moved to 5-7-and-3 with the victory.  The Fire return to U.S. Open Cup play Wednesday night as they host Orlando City SC.
