Blackhawks Stun Bruins Late To Win Stanley Cup
(Boston, MA) -- The Blackhawks scored twice in a span of 17 seconds with under 90 seconds to play to beat the Bruins 3-2 in Game Six and capture their fifth Stanley Cup in franchise history. Bryan Bickell tied the game before Dave Bolland buried the game-winner with 59 seconds to play for Chicago, which last lifted the Cup in 2010. Jonathan Toews [[ tayves ]] also scored and had an assist for the 'Hawks while Corey Crawford made 23 saves.
Blackhawks' Kane Wins Conn Smythe Trophy
(Boston, MA) -- Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane is the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy. The award is given to the player judged to be most valuable to his team in the postseason. Kane is the first non-goalie to win the award since his teammate, center Jonathan Toews [[ tayves ]], did so when Chicago won the Stanley Cup in 2010. Kane recorded nine goals and ten assists in 23 playoff games.
Pippen Investigated After Malibu Fight
(Malibu, CA) -- Former Bulls star Scottie Pippen is being questioned after a weekend fight in Malibu. Authorities say the altercation occurred between Pippen and an autograph seeker outside a restaurant. The 47-year-old Pippen is cooperating with police according to the Los Angeles County sheriff's department. Pippen was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010 after winning six titles with the Bulls alongside Michael Jordan.
Bulls Get Set For Draft
(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls are getting prepared for this week's NBA Draft. Chicago has spent the last few weeks working out players and evaluating prospects. The Bulls have the 20th overall pick in the first round. They also have the 49th overall choice which comes in the second round. The draft is Thursday night at 4:00 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Cubs Start Series In Milwaukee
(Milwaukee, WI) -- The Cubs open up a three-game series with the Brewers in Milwaukee tonight. Chicago sends Edwin Jackson and his 3-and-9 record to the mound against Kyle Lohse [[ loash ]], who is just 2-and-6 on the year. The Cubs are just 1-and-4 against the Brew Crew this season. First pitch from Miller Park is set for 7:10.
White Sox Open Set With Mets
(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox start a brief two-game series with the Mets at U.S. Cellular Field tonight. Left-hander Chris Sale will take the mound for the Pale Hose against rookie Zack Wheeler. The pair of games completes a four-game home-and-home series. The teams split the two games in New York in early May. First pitch is set for 7:10.
Sky Face Liberty Tomorrow
(Rosemont, IL) -- The Sky are back on the court tomorrow afternoon as they host the New York Liberty at Allstate Arena. Chicago moved to 5-and-3 on the young season after Saturday's 71-61 victory over the defending champion Indiana Fever. The Liberty enter tomorrow's contest at 4-and-3 after suffering an overtime loss to the San Antonio Silver Stars on Sunday. Tip off is set for 12:30 tomorrow afternoon.

(Bridgeview, IL) -- A spot in the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup is on the line tomorrow night at Toyota Park in Bridgeview. The Fire will host USL Pro side Orlando City SC for a spot in the semis. A victory would give the Fire yet another home match, which would be against either DC United or the New England Revolution on August 7th. Tomorrow's match kicks off at 7:30.
Big Ten Strengthens West Coast Grip With Bowl Ties
(Undated) -- The Big Ten is continuing to expand its reach after reaching two more bowl agreements with the Pac-12 yesterday. The Holiday Bowl in San Diego and the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco each announced six-year agreements with the Big Ten and Pac-12 Conferences. The Big Ten replaces the Big 12 in the Holiday Bowl. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl will move to the 49ers' future stadium in Santa Clara for 2014.
