(Flushing, NY) -- White Sox pitcher Chris Sale tossed two scoreless innings and was the winning pitcher as the American League earned a 3-0 win over the National League in last night's All-Star Game from Citi Field in New York. Sale struck out two on 24 pitches as ten AL hurlers combined for the three-hit shutout. Sox reliever Jesse Crain did not appear in the game, nor did Cubs starter Travis Wood. Yankees closer Mariano Rivera took the MVP award with a scoreless eighth as the AL snapped a three-game losing streak.

(Undated) -- With the All-Star Game in the rear-view mirror, baseball's second half is set to get underway on Friday. The Cubs will be on the road to start a ten-game road trip in Colorado against the Rockies. The Northsiders are 42-and-51 on the year and in fourth place in the NL Central. The White Sox will open the second half against the Atlanta Braves for the start of a ten-game homestand. The Pale Hose are 37-and-55 and in the cellar of the AL Central.

(Las Vegas, NV) -- Marquis Teague scored 25 points to lead the Bulls in an 80-78 overtime win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Las Vegas Summer League play yesterday. Tony Snell added 14 points and six rebounds for Chicago, which went 3-and-0 in this portion of the event. The Bulls now play either the Knicks or Heat in the single-elimination bracket. That game on Thursday at 9:00.
>>Blackhawks Send Carcillo To Kings
(Undated) -- The Blackhawks have traded veteran forward Dan Carcillo to the Los Angeles Kings. Carcillo has led the league in penalty minutes twice in his seven-year career. He's been limited to just 51 games in the last two seasons due to injuries. Chicago receives a conditional 2015 draft pick from the Kings in the deal.

(Bridgeview, IL) -- The Fire are getting set for this weekend's match against D.C. United. Chicago is 6-9-and-3 on the season and in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. United is only 2-13-and-4 and in the cellar of the conference standings. Saturday's match starts at 7:30 from Toyota Park.

(Rosemont, IL) -- The Sky are back on the court tomorrow morning. Chicago will take on the New York Liberty at 10:00 a.m. from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The Sky have won three straight and are now second in the Eastern Conference at 10-and-4. New York is four games back of Chicago at 6-and-8.
