(Undated) -- Ex-Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is pulling for his former team. He told NFL.com he still has friends on the team and wants them to do well, but not too well. He added, "They better not win the championship without me." Urlacher retired after the two sides failed to meet eye-to-eye on contract negotiations. He never won a Super Bowl and only made it to the final game once, losing 29-17 to the Colts in 2007.

(Undated) -- The football series between Northern Illinois and Nebraska has been changed. The sides canceled the 2016 game at Soldier Field due to the Big Ten's new nine game conference schedule. The Huskies and Cornhuskers have since added two games, which brings total to four meetings. The schools will battle in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023.

(Las Vegas, NV) -- Marquis Teague posted 21 points to pace the Bulls as they fell to the Heat 68-62 in the Las Vegas Summer League. Tony Snell added seven points on 2-of-8 from the floor to go with 12 rebounds in defeat. The Bulls play the Mavericks tonight.

(Newark, NJ) -- Elena Delle Donne posted 23 points and six rebounds to pace the Chicago Sky to a 75-55 victory over the New York Liberty in Newark. Carolyn Swords and Eshaya Murphy each added 12 points for Chicago, which improved to 11-and-4. The Sky face the Liberty in Illinois on Saturday.

(Undated) -- Elena Delle Donne and Epiphanny Prince will start the WNBA All-Star Game. Chicago pair were named along with Cappie Pondexter, Angel McCoughtry and Tamika Catching as the East's starting five. The remaining team is scheduled to be announced next Tuesday. The game is on July 27th in Connecticut.

(Denver, CO) -- The Chicago Cubs start the second half of the season on the road. The Cubs play the first of three games in Colorado against the Rockies tonight. The Cubs send Jeff Samardzija to the hill opposite Jorge De La Rosa. Chicago is 42-and-51 so far this season.

(Undated) -- The Chicago Cubs will call up outfield prospect Junior Lake from Triple-A Iowa. MLB.com says he will join the team for tonight's game in Colorado. The team is expected to place outfielder Brian Bogusevic on the disabled list. The 23-year-old Dominican is hitting .295 with four home runs and 18 RBI for the I-Cubs this season.

(Chicago, IL) -- The Cubs' 500-million-dollar renovation plan is one step closer to becoming reality. On Thursday, the Chicago Plan Commission unanimously endorsed the proposal, sending it to the City Council. The plan proposed by Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts calls for more ballpark signage, a seven-story hotel on Clark Street, and a six-story office-retail building and plaza adjacent to Wrigley.

(Chicago, IL) -- The Chicago White Sox open the second half of the season tonight at home against the Atlanta Braves. The Sox send John Danks to the hill against Tim Hudson of Atlanta. Chicago finished the first half at 37-and-55.
