The Galesburg Silver Streak boys soccer team opened it's season yesterday against the Geneseo Maple leafs at Kleine Equipment Field in Galesburg. Galesburg fell to the Leafs 3-0. Geneseo scored in the 25th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead. The Streaks, Cal Morling nearly tied the game in the 31st minute but couldn't find the back of the net on a point-blank rebound. The Maple Leafs added a pair of goals in the second half for the final 3-0 score. Geneseo outshot Galesburg 24-5 with Leafs goalie Josh Morton making four saves to post the shutout. Connor Day was credited with 15 saves for the Streaks.
