The Galesburg High School girls swimming and diving team finished first in a triangular with Moline and Richwoods at Mustain Pool on Saturday. The Silver Streaks took first-place in 9-out-12 events ending with a team score of 860.5 points. Moline took second with 593 and Richwoods finished third with 589.5.
Galesburg finished 1-2-3 in the 100 breaststroke for the Streaks best finish of the day. Rebecca Duncan finished first with a time of 1:10.7 followed by Emelia Smith in 1:11.1 and Katy Kent in 1:23.26.
Galesburg finished 1-2 in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Delaney Duncan, Smith, Rebecca Duncan and Kennedy touched the wall in 1:45.05 and the team of Makayla McGee, Danielle Guiterrez, Molly Naslund and Somer Molline finished in 1:51.13.
The Streaks’ 200 medley relay team of Beetler, Delaney Duncan, Katie Kennedy and Smith took first in 1:54.74.
In individual competition, Beetler took first in the 200 freestyle in 2:04.08 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.37. Katie Kennedy took first in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.16 and Delaney Duncan took first in the 50 freestyle in :25.55. In addition to her first-place finish in the breaststroke, Rebecca Duncan finished first in the 100 freestyle.
