Cards Gear Up For Playoffs
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Cardinals have their opponent for the NL Division Series. Pittsburgh's win over Cincinnati Tuesday means the Cardinals will open at home against their division rivals the Pirates. With 97 wins, St. Louis has home-field advantage throughout the National League playoffs. The Cardinals will open the NLDS tomorrow at 4 p.m.at Busch Stadium.
Blues Open Regular Season Thursday
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blues will open the NHL season at home tomorrow night against the Predators. The game was moved to 7:30 p.m. to accommodate fans watching or attending the Cardinals baseball game. The Blues will play their first five games at home against Nashville, Florida, Chicago, the Rangers and San Jose.
Rams Host Jags Sunday
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Rams get back to work this week as they prepare to host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome. The Rams are coming off a 35-11 loss to the 49ers last Thursday that dropped them to 1-and-3 on the season. The Jaguars are one of three teams still winless at 0-and-4 after losing 37-3 Sunday to Indianapolis.
Rams Re-sign Dunbar
(Earth City, MO) -- The Rams get linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar back this week from suspension for violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. They have also agreed to terms of new contract with Dunbar, the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" reports. Dunbar made 157 tackles last season and also intercepted two passes and forced two fumbles.
Mizzou, Illinois In Action Saturday
(Undated) -- Illinois opens its Big Ten season Saturday at Nebraska. The Fighting Illini are 3-and-1. Missouri's first SEC game is Saturday at Vanderbilt. The Tigers are a perfect 4-and-0.
