Ripon defeated Knox 37-29 in a Midwest Conference game on Saturday in Galesburg, Illinois. Ripon led 17-7 at the half.  The Prairie Fire (0-5, 0-4 MWC) scored two third quarter touchdowns on their first two possessions to take their first lead of the game at 21-17.  The Red Hawks responded with 20 unanswered points for a 37-21 advantage in the fourth quarter.  Knox added a late touchdown and two-point conversion to account for the final points of the game.
Ripon (3-2, 2-2 MWC) has won the last 17 meetings against Knox and snapped a two-game losing streak.  The loss was the Prairie Fire's fourth by 10 or fewer points this season.

*NOTE:*
Knox College running back Derek Mortensen set the school's all-time career
rushing yards record.  He needed 70 yards to break the mark of 3171 held by
Kevin Megli (2003-06) and finished the game with 117.
