Cards Beltran, Carpenter File For Free Agency

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran and former ace Chris Carpenter filed for free agency on the first day of the offseason.  Carpenter expects to retire. Beltran has discussed the possibility of going to the American League where his career could be extended by the designated hitter.  The switch hitting Beltran led the Cardinals with 15 of their 50 RBI this postseason.

Four Rams Return To Practice

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Rams got four players back on the practice field Thursday.  Running back Zac Stacy, left tackle Jake Long, center Scott Wells and wide out Austin Pettis all fully participated.  The Rams welcome in the Titans, head coach Jeff Fisher's old team, this Sunday.

Morrow To Miss Panthers' Game

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Blues will play the Panthers tonight without Brenden Morrow. The left winger took a cross-check to the rib area against Winnipeg on Tuesday.  St. Louis comes in at 7-1-and-2 while Florida is 3-7-and-2.

Booker Picks Kentucky Over Mizzou

(Columbia, MO)  --  Blue chip basketball recruit Devon Booker selected John Calipari and Kentucky over Frank Haith's Mizzou squad next year. Booker would have been the highest-ranked recruit to play for Haith at Missouri had he picked the Tigers.  Booker averaged 29.7 points per game for Moss Point High School as a junior last season and is ranked as the 18th player in the 2014 recruiting class by ESPN.
