Beat Up Bears Play Packers On "MNF"
(Green Bay, WI) -- Longtime NFC North rivals meet on "Monday Night Football" as the Chicago Bears invade Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. The Bears are without quarterback Jay Cutler and linebacker Lance Briggs due to injuries. The Bears are coming off their bye week and have lost three of their last four games since a 3-and-0 start. Green Bay has won four in-a-row and leads the division at 5-and-2. The Packers have won six straight against Chicago, including the playoffs.
Bears Sign DT Ratliff
(Chicago, IL) -- The Bears signed veteran defensive tackle Jay Ratliff to a one-year deal on Saturday. Ratliff started all 16 games for four straight seasons for the Cowboys before being limited to just six games last year due to injury. He hasn't played since last November. The 32-year-old posted 27 sacks in eight seasons in Dallas.
Flames Clip Blackhawks
(Chicago, IL) -- Kris Russell found the back of the net 1:32 into the overtime period as the Flames dropped the Blackhawks 3-2 from the United Center. Patrick Kane scored in the second and Marian Hossa [[ HOE-suh ]] scored the game-tying goal with under five minutes to play in the third. Corey Crawford stopped 27 attempts for Chicago, which slipped to 9-2-and-4. The 'Hawks host Winnipeg on Wednesday.
Bulls Off Until Wednesday
(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls have a few more days to regroup following Saturday's loss in Philadelphia. Chicago will travel to Indiana to play the Pacers on Wednesday. The Bulls are 1-and-2 on the young season following a 107-104 setback to the 76ers. The Pacers are 3-and-0 and will play at Detroit tomorrow before hosting the Bulls.
Illinois Falls In OT At Penn State
(University Park, PA) -- Kyle Carter's 15-yard touchdown catch in overtime gave Penn State a 24-17 win over Illinois on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Nathan Sheelhaase finished 33-of-52 for 321 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the Fighting Illini, who have lost four straight to dip to 3-and-5 and 0-and-4 in the Big Ten. Illinois travels to Indiana this Saturday.
Northwestern Drops Fifth Straight
(Lincoln, NE) -- Jordan Westerkamp had a 49 yard touchdown catch as time expired to lift Nebraska past Northwestern 27-24 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Treyvon Green ran for 149 yards and three TD's for the Wildcats, who have lost five in-a-row to dip to 4-and-5 and 0-and-5 in the Big Ten. Northwestern hosts Michigan on November 16th.
Irish Rally By Navy
(South Bend, IN) -- Tarean Folston's one-yard touchdown run with just under four minutes to play lifted Notre Dame past Navy 38-34 on Saturday. He ended with 140 yards on the ground. Tommy Rees threw for 242 yards, two TDs and two interceptions for the Irish, who improved to 7-and-2 and are now 23rd in the BCS Standings. The Irish travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday.
